Deleting a document and its shortcut at the same time causes an error

Description

If a document and a shortcut to the same document are deleted together, an error is returned in the browser stating that the document cannot be found. Both items are still deleted.

To reproduce the issue:
1.) Navigate to the Documents and Media portlet in the control panel
2.) Add a document in the root directory
3.) Add a shortcut to the new document in the root directory
4.) Flag the "select all" check box
5.) Click Actions >> Delete

Environment

Tomcat 6.0 + MySQL 5. 6.1.x Revision 89336.

FAILED Manual Testing following steps in description.

Tomcat 7.0 + MySQL 5. 6.1.x Revision: 94445.

The portal now returns a different error message after deleting the document and shortcut: "Documents and Media is temporarily unavailable."
