In order to test this issue, the code for the ticket must be included in trunk.
Then, the steps to reproduce the issue are the following:
1. Add a new Site S
2. Add a new User U
3. Assign the User U to the Site S
5. Create some Document Types for the Site S
4. Define the permissions of the Site Membership role allowing VIEW Document Types and VIEW & ACCESS in Control Panle the Documents and Media Portlet.
Login with the new user, go to Control Panel, Documents and Media and the user should be able to see the created Document Types, but he cannot see them.
However, if you create a Custom Role with the same permissions as before and assign it to the user U, then he will be able to see the document types.
