This is happening in current trunk using IE 8:

1-Upload a document to Documents & Media
2-Click in down arrow, select "Open in MS Office".
3-Error of "Automation server can't create object" appears.

This issue can be closed. Bad testing, I didn't see a window where I had to fill user and password (sorry).

We are facing this issue on IE8 and IE9 using Liferay 6.1.0 CE. We have done extensive testing and it is not linked to the MSOffice login window. It is difficult to test as it works in some case, not in others. We have noticed that in some folders, just by changing the sort order of the files, it works.

We have not been able to systematically reproduce this error. However, we have noticed the following:
In a folder “A”, the document “B” generates the script error.
We create a new folder “Test A”, upload the document “B” in this folder, Open in MSOffice works
We delete folder “A”, and rename folder “Test A” to “A”, Open in MSOffice on file “B” works
It seems therefore that this is not linked to the filename or folder name.
