I created a group and a site for this group.
Then I created a user belonging to this site adding it to the group and editing the user profile putting the right site membership.

Then i created some pages for the group website, and for each page I set the permissions to view only for "Siste Member" Role.

The result is that the pages are not available for the usre (error 404).
The pages result available if i add the view option for "User" regular role.

Thank you for your report. I was able to reproduce this issue in Liferay Portal 6.1.0 CE GA1 and our trunk head. I will update this ticket to reflect this issue.

Sorry for the late response and I hope you can get back to me. After some investigation, it seems there might be some confusion about the User Group Site. This user group site is supposed to act as a template for the member of the user group's public or private pages. On that user you assigned to the user group, try viewing their public pages and you should see the pages you added in that User group site template. I tried this with the default permissions scheme on the latest 6.1 and 6.2 and I was able to access the pages generated by the user group.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Add a user group and add pages to the "User Group Site"
2. Add a user and assign that user to the user group
3. Log on that user and navigate to Go to > Public Pages and you should see the pages that you configured or added for the user group

While I don't think this is a bug, I do think that this experience should be clearer. I will close as won't fix. If there still is an issue please comment here and we can investigate this further.
