cloneNode can easily throw memory leaks in IE

      Description

We currently already have a .clone() method which normalizes the cloning of nodes. In IE cloneNode clones the events attached to an object, so it is very easy to create a memory leak by cloning a node inside of an event listener.

Our .clone method handles this properly and prevents the leak from happening. We should use this instead.
