The liferay-faces:deploy goal is a fork of the liferay:deploy goal of the liferay-maven-plugin. It will be faster than the liferay-maven-plugin since it does not extract portal-web.war into the target folder. In addition, this feature will provide a uniform way of deploying plugins on older versions of Liferay Portal such as version 5.2 which does not have a corresponding version of the liferay-maven-plugin.
