Image gallery / bookmarks portlet searches cannot find images / bookmarks that were merged to its parent folder

Image gallery / bookmarks portlet searches cannot find images / bookmarks (objects) that were merged to its parent folder. Objects in subfolders can be searched against and found. It's only when these objects are merged to its parent folder, they are no longer searchable. However, you can still find them using the search portlet. This has been resolved and you can now find the merged objects when you search for them from within the portlet.
