User facet disappears from search portlet after saving a configuration with "basic" setting selected

Description

Saving the search portlet's configuration without editing anything will result in a missing user facet for subsequent searches.

Steps to reproduce

1) Add a search portlet to the page.
2) Search for the name of a user. Notice that the user facet appears.
3) Open the search configuration and then save it without changing anything.
4) Search the same name. Notice that the user facet is gone.

Results of Testing

Expected Result: The user facet should be present in search results.
Actual Results: The user facet is not present.
