When a portlet processes an event, the portlet's window state and portlet mode may change. Specifically, a portlet processing an event will inherits the window state and portlet mode of the current request. If multiple portlets are configured to receive an event it can cause strange behaviors such as multiple portlets in the maximized state at the same time.
