Description
As a content creator
I want to be able to use images in webp format
so that the page load is improved as they optimize the size and quality
Acceptance criteria
Given a site
When a user uploads an image in webp
Then the images are uploaded and previews in cards are provided.
Given a site with images in webp format
When a user opens the item selector to add an image to a content
Then the files in webp format are shown with the rest of the images
Given a site with images in webp format
When a user adds one of these images to a content (in a fragment, web content, blog entry, etc
Then the images are correctly added and shown when the content is published in a page.
Note: JPEG 2000 and JPEG XR have been discarded due to the low browser support. 12monkeys library supports reading but not writing of webp files.
