Mandatory Date field of any web content structure is automatically filled with the current date

    • Type: Bug
    • Status: Closed
    • Resolution: Won't Fix
    • Affects Version/s: 7.0.X, 7.1.X, 7.2.X, Master
    • Fix Version/s: None
    • Component/s: Dynamic Data Mapping

      Steps to reproduce:

      1. Create a web content structure with a required Date field, and also a web content template for it.
      2. Start creating a new web content article based on this structure.
Result: Notice that the date field is already filled in, with the current date, which makes you, as the end user, more prone to the oversight of filling in this field with the date that you want. Because if you forget to do it, you will not notice anything wrong, because you will be able to save the web content without problems (since the field is already filled in).
Expected behaviour: would be to leave that field blank (just like when it is not required), showing that date format (mm/dd/yyyy) text in grey. This way we can make sure that the end user will fill in that field, and it will fill it with the correct value.  For automatically filling in a field with a default value, we have the "Predefined Value" setting on each field.
