      Description

      Motivation

There might be times when technical issues rend views & reads data unavailable (AC issues, AC-DXP connection issues, or tracked page issues), and we should have a visual way to differentiate such cases from "0" views & reads. Nevertheless, for the moment we are not able to discriminate between 0 / null values, so chart will show a "0" value.

Also, in those cases where there are not enough data for the period requested due to publication date (for example, if content was published 3 days ago and Last 7 days is selected), chart will show only the available data, and a mark indicating the publication date.

Finally, user wants to be warned when he/she's trying to retrieve data from a period when the content was not published yet.

      Technical Requirements

      • The line chart will always show the values retrieved from AC (0 - n), provided that we don't have a way to differentiate null from 0 for the moment.
      • In those cases where there are not enough data for the period requested due to publication date (for example, if content was published 3 days ago and Last 7 days is selected), chart will show only the available data.
      • In those cases, line will start from the day/hour when data are first available, and a mark will show in the horizontal axis to indicate the publication date.
      • when a user wants to check dates when content was not published yet, we will disable the “previous” button when previous period is earlier than the publication date. Hover on the disabled button will show the message: “You cannot choose a date previous to the publication date"

      Acceptance Criteria

Given a chart where publication date is shown

When user makes hover on the previous period button

Then a tooltip with the message "You cannot choose a date previous to the publication date" shows

Given a requested period of time

When the publication date is within that period

Then the line starts at that point and the "publication mark" is shown in the beginning of the line

       -

Given a requested period of time

When data from AC are retrieved [for the moment they're mocked]

Then the line shows whatever values are provided (there will be no way to differentiate null from 0 values [this is not happening with mock data, null values are not displayed])

      Test Scenarios

AC ID Test Strategy Test Scenarios Is it covered by FrontEnd ? (JS-Unit) Is it covered by BackEnd? (unit or integration) Poshi?
01 Sanity When the graphic shows the publication date, "Previous" button will be disabled and the button displays a tooltip on hover with a message NO NO X
02 Smoke When the graphic shows the publication date, all previous dots will be 0 NO NO  X
03 Sanity When the graphic shows the publication date and the user selects other interval from the dropdown, it will display only the available data from the publication date NO NO  X
