Steps to Reproduce

1. Add a calendar portlet to the default site
2. Click on May 11, 2020 > Edit
3. Enable Repeat with the Never option and Publish
4. Delete the event on May 14, 2020 using the Single Event option
5. Edit May 13, 2020 and change the Repeat option to After Occurrences: 4
6. Publish using Following Events

Expected Result
The entire series starts from May 11, 2020 and ends on May 16, 2020
Actual Result
The entire series starts from May 11, 2020 and ends on May 16, 2020, but there is no new event on May 14, 2020
