      Description

      Motivation

Limiting click targets to buttons and links severely limits the functional usability of AB testing in real world scenarios.

      Recommendations

A/B test click targets should be able to be input  or even div  elements. <input type="submit">  is a valid form of a button and in many cases divs are clickable using JS.

For this reason it would be helpful to enable any element with an ID to be set as the click target. Understanding that this becomes very complicated with the existing UI for selecting a click target, the recommendation is to simplify the UI to just be an input field that takes an ID.

Alternatively, adding an input field as an optional way of setting the click target could work if there are reasons to keep the existing UI. However, the existing UI is not intuitive and should be changed or improved by including a tooltip indicating what elements are valid to select as click targets.

      Acceptance Criteria

      • Add <input type="submit"> as a valid click target
      • Add ability to set any element with an ID as a click target using an input field
