Description
Task has been created following the discussion from this forum post.
Liferay allows creating Web Content in two different ways:
- From Control Panel, where you need to navigate to a specific folder and create a new article
- From Asset Publisher or Web Content Display widgets, which will cause the content to be saved in the default "Home" folder
The editors usually choose the second option which is much easier as they know straight away where the content will be displayed (new content inherits structure and categories/tags configuration from Asset Publisher).
This is a big problem for content organization in the backend, as all articles created in this way are saved in the main "Home" folder which makes the entire Web Content Folder concept useless.
Suggested solution
Asset Publisher and Web Content Display widgets (or Collection Display fragment in the future) should contain a configuration option, which would allow the administrator to choose the folder where the new content will be saved.
