Suggestions widget providing inconsistent suggestions

While trying the suggestions widget I noticed that the results are inconsistent.

I search for gremlins, get results.

I search for gromlins, get no results, but suggestions for gremlins as keyword and as search term.

Next I run the same query again for gromlins and then I don't get any suggestions at all.

This doesn't look right to me.
