Editing inline image immediately after adding is not possible in CKEditor

Reproduction steps:

01. create a new Basic Web Content
02. Set a title or leave it empty, click on the Insert Image button in the editor
03. Upload a new image
04. Add this newly uploaded image
05. Observe that the inserted image is not clickable, try to click on it to change proportions, this fails
06. as workaround, click on 'Source' and then leave Source mode again
07. observe that the image is now clickable and adjustable

Expected result: The image is clickable and possible to drag and drop or resize
Actual result: The image is clickable only after saving or changing to source mode and back
