Log4jConfigUtil removes the ability to customize portal-log4j-ext.xml

    Details

      Description

      This year, Log4jConfigUtil in com.liferay.petra.log4j.internal changed quite a bit.
      It seems to create limits to customize the main log with portal-log4j-ext.xml.

      It removes the ability to use what is now "reserved", "TEXT_FILE", "XML_FILE", in a logic that seems to be meant for modules only. If one wants to use that xml to adjust the logging patterns, locations... it is not allowed.

      It also limits the log names, as it considers a dot as the point where a suffix starts. That means, we can no longer use filename without a suffix(extension) or with dots.

      ```
      suffix = value.substring(0, value.indexOf(StringPool.PERIOD));
      ```

      For instance, this line will lead to exceptions, in case of no dots; like in pseudo-filesystem files.
