      Description

      the activities portlet does not generate valid xml, there is a space before '<?xml '. this causes firefox to parse it as html and it is not shown as feed.

        Confirmed the issue in 6.0.5, 6.0.11 and trunk running Tomcat + MySQL, see attachment

        I also noticed that some of the other portlets don't with work with certain browsers, especially Chrome.

        Tomcat 7.0 + MySQL 5. Portal 6.1.x EE GIT ID: ee377ab6647df0d855b2eb051e3477c772a9cb7f.
        Tomcat 7.0 + MySQL 5. Portal 6.2.x GIT ID: 7d9cb7462b0e501539b8addee287a2ca0d5c834f.

        When click "Subcribe to Liferay's activities", it will show "This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below."

        After validating the generated xml in w3c feed validator (http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi) it appears to be a valid feed

        Steps to test:

        1 click on the RSS feed link,
        2 see the source code of the rendered page,
        3 copy the code and validate it in the validation box
