We have a requirement from a client whereby they want to allow business users to 'preview' in progress publications without them being able to edit the Pages / add Pages etc.
The scenario: Client has a content editor team and a public web site where different business units own different sections of the website.
- The business unit will request changes to their pages e.g. new pages, updates to page contents etc.
- The content editor team will make the changes within a Publication
- The business unit needs to 'preview' the in progress Publication to okay it before it is Published
- The business unit user should have 'read only' access while they navigate around the Publication, they shouldn't be able to change anything.
Note: I am not referring to the 'Review Changes' functionality. The business user needs to be able to navigate around the pages and see how they will appear to the end user when the Publication is Published.
I can replicate this with a set of Permissions that must include 'Publication > Update' permission. This permission allows the user to 'Edit' the Publication (i.e. the name and description) which isn't ideal.
It would be good if there was a specific Permission to allow the Preview of a Publication whereby the user didn't need to be assigned the 'Publication > Update' permission.
