"Inherit" is not really good term to use for this. It's not really inheriting, what it is doing is creating a UI to "propagate" changes from a parent object to a child object with one click.

Please follow these steps to test.

        1. Place the following in the portal-ext: permissions.propagation.enabled=true
        2. Add the wiki portlet, with a front page and a child page.
        3. Select the child page. Click on details and then permissions located in the advanced options section towards the bottom of the portlet.
        4. Note: the delete permissions given to site/community member.
        5. Go to the control panel and select wiki.
        6. Select permissions for the node you created in step 2.
        7. Add delete permission for Site/Community member. If the child node already had the delete permission deselect it in node permissions.
        8. click save.
        9. Go back to the wiki child page added in step 2. The site/community member delete permissions of the child page should match the delete permissions for the node.
