      When a user attempts to export a user group from the Portal to LDAP, an error is thrown in the console (see attachment) and the user group is not created in apacheds. However if the user group is first created in apacheds, user groups function as expected when exporting data from the portal to LDAP.

      Steps to reproduce:

      1. Download and install Apache Directory Server 1.0.2
      2. Download and install Jxplorer 3.2
      3. Configure Jxplorer
        • Host: localhost
        • Port: 10389
        • Protocol: LDAP v3
        • Level: User + Password
        • UserDN: uid=admin,ou=System
        • Password: Test
      4. Right click Example > New, populate with the following and click Submit
        • Parent DN: dc=example,dc=com
        • RDN Field: ou=Users
        • object class: organizationalunit
        • object class: top
      5. Go to Example > Users and right click New and populate the following and click Submit
        • Parent DN: ou=Users,dc=example,dc=com
        • RDN field: cn=janesmith
        • object class: inetOrgPerson
      6. Right click Example > New, populate with the following and click Submit
        • Parent DN: dc=example,dc=com
        • RDN Field: ou=groups
        • object class: organizationalUnit
        • object class: top
        • Click OK
        • Click Submit
      7. In Liferay, go to Control Panel > Portal Settings > Authentication > LDAP
      8. Flag Enabled, Import Enabled, and Export Enabled
      9. Click Save
      10. Click LDAP tab
      11. ClIck Add under LDAP Servers
        • Under Groups enter the following
          • Import Search Filter: (objectClass=groupOfUniqueNames)
          • Group Name: cn
          • Description: description
          • User uniqueMember
        • Under Export enter the follwoing
          • Users DN: ou=Users,dc=example,dc=com
          • User Default Object Classes: top,organizationalPerson,person,inetOrgPerson
          • Groups DN: ou=groups,dc=example,dc=com
          • Groups Default Object Classes: top,groupOfUniqueNames,organizationalUnit
        • Under User Mapping enter the following
          • Group: businessCategory
        • Click Save
      12. Click User Groups
      13. Create a User Group: userGroup
      14. Assign SA to userGroup
        • The user group is not exported to LDAP and an error is thrown in the console
