      Description

      Pre-steps:

      • Liferay configured for en_US and fr_FR locales
      • Multiple pages already configured for the default locale (en_CA)

      Steps to reproduce:

      1) Control Bar -> Manage -> Page
      2) Pop-up window will appear
      3) Select a page from the left-hand tree
      4) Click "Other Language (0)" for "Name (Required)"
      5) Another smaller pop-up window will appear
      6) Populate the value "Other Title FR" in the pop-up field
      7) Click off the second pop-up window and it will disappear (there is not "Ok" button)
      8) Click "Save"
      9) Page will refresh in the pop window
10)Select a different page from the left-hand tree
      11) Click "Other Language (0)" for "Name (Required)"
      12) Another smaller pop-up window will appear
      13) Populate the value "Some Other Title FR" in the pop-up field
      14) Click off the second pop-up window and it will disappear (there is not "Ok" button)
      15) Click "Save"
      16) Close the pop-up window
      17) Review the site in French

The results will be that both pages are Named "Other Title FR".

Additionally, sometimes when changing the name for the other language the change does not save.

I looked for existing reports of this issue but could not find on JIRA or on the Forums. This is a serious issue as it is causing the French version of our website to become easily corrupt.

In my opinion, this is a severe issue. The localization of page names / HTML titles is a kind of basic thing that should always be tested and work. However Martin, there is a - at least satisfying - workaround:

          1. Create different Sites per language for Page navigation, e.g. French (with a friendly-URL french).
          2. Create localized web content in the Site with default language (e.g. English) so that there are both english as the default language and french translation per article.
          3. In the French site, show content from the "English" Site (the content of which is localized).
          4. In the Language navigation (e.g. EN | FR in banner) use links <a href="/fr/web/french/" ..>FR</a>. Then, only french content is showed and page names in navigation are correct.

          I have the same problem with a Liferay 6.1 EE GA2 with Tomcat 7.0 + PostgreSQL 9.2

Is there a patch available for this? If not, can we know when a fix will be available?

The same happens to me. I found a not satys solution. Each time you want to change a page and not to lost the right translation, you must enter to the Site Pages option on the left menu again and edit the page you want.

I have also the same problem Liferay 6.1.1 CE GA2 with Tomcat 7.0 and Prostgresql 9.2

Additional sometimes all page titles get changed to the same after saving, also all languages.

I also tested it in the Control Panel -> Site Pages with the same result.

+1 same problem for us on Liferay 6.1.20 EE GA2, Tomcat 7.0, MySQL 5.5

I'm surprised this issue is only classified as Minor, it impacts all multilingual portals causing incorrect page titles/links. We have advised our customers. Liferay please fix!
