Improved search capabilities from within Search portlet. Need ability to search and filter similar to Outlook 2007/2010.

Advanced Search Capabilities:

1) Ability to Sort by Date
2) Sort by Alphabetical Order
3) Sort by Newest and Oldest

Received reports from end-users that search has been cumbersome for them. "Not User Friendly", even with Drill-down options on Left.

"I searched for documents I had listed as Activity 1, Activity 2, etc. When I search and use the word activity, it pulls up a bunch of other items that meet that criteria but it is in no particular order. To top it off, I can't resort the list it returns, so I have to just page through the items until I find the one I am looking for. Very not user friendly."
