      Description

All the functionality of this portlet and much more is provided by the Asset Publisher portlet. Having two portlets with the same functionality is confusing for the user so Web Content List will be deprecated in 6.2 and most probably removed in 7.0.

During the deprecation period the code will still be part of the product but it will be disabled it by default. This will make it possible for portals that are using it to enable them (from the Control Panel > Plugins Configuraiton) to keep using it. They would be able to migrate to Asset Publisher either slowly (manually) or all at once by installing a plugin that we could develop and distribute through the marketplace later on.

I'm reopening this to change the way the deprecation is done. Instead of removing it completely, I'm going to instead just disable it by default so that it can be easily enabled from the Control Panel.

PASSED Manual Testing using the following steps:

          1. Search 'Web Content' in the Applications search bar
            • Assert that 'Web Content List' does not display in the results

          Completed on:
          Tomcat 7 + MySQL 5. Portal 6.2.x GIT ID: 249e0a08b30b1280488abec5009b1a48424e03ba.

User can still make the Web Content List portlet active in Control Panel > Apps > Plugins Configuration, but the portlet is inactive by default.
