Javascript Minifier errors when using the CKEditor in Websphere 8.5.5.2

This is on Websphere 8.5.5.2 only; no errors on Tomcat 7.

Steps taken:
1. Add the Announcements portlet to the page. Almost any portlet that uses CKEditor will probably reproduce this error.
2. Create a new announcement:
a) Name: General Entry 1
b) URL: http://www.google.com
c) Content: this is General Entry 1.
3. There are console errors.
4. The portal is still usable.
5. Now add the Language portlet. Change the language to French.
6. Go to Admin > Content > Web Content
7. Add a template in Velocity script. The VM entry area is missing.

Expected results:
CKEditor works without errors.

Actual results:
CKEditor works with errors and not at all when localized:
