The configuration setting to show or hide the search in Documents & Media does not work

Steps to reproduce:
1) Add the Documents & Media portlet to a page
2) Configure it unchecking the checkbox "Show Search" and close the conf pop-up
Result: The search box is still shown
Expected: It should no longer display
