Configure multiple host names (i18n) for single site

I have a client right now (EE Customer) that has the need to support multiple virtual host names for a single site. They provide their sites in both English and French and depending on the language of use, the domain name is different.

We are working on a series of hooks and an EXT plugin to provide this feature and would liek to contribute it back to the portal. If the owner of this feature is around for any support we may need it would be greatly appreciated.
