Adding Media Gallery portlet before certain additional portlets breaks UI

Steps to Reproduce

1. Add Media Gallery portlet to a page
2. Add Message Boards portlet

Expect Results:
Message Boards portlet is immediately added and UI still functions

Actual Results:
Message Boards portlet is not added until refresh. Most UI buttons no longer work on the page.

This also occurs with Media Gallery + Dynamic Data List Display portlet.

The only workaround is to switch pages, delete the page, and remake it. If it is the only page on a site, it will cause the site to be inoperable to the user. The issue persists through server restart.
