JTDS is deprecated for 7.0.0 but there's no information actually saying that

      Description

      Per Manu de la Peña,

      which driver are you using? JTDS driver was deprecated few months ago. We are using sqljdbc.jar and it connects successfully. More specifically, sqljdbc4 or greater.

      If this is the case, at a minimum we need to update portal.properties, which states:

      setup.database.driverClassName[sqlserver]=net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver
      setup.database.url[sqlserver]=jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://localhost/lportal

      #

      1. SQL Server
        #
        #jdbc.default.driverClassName=net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver
        #jdbc.default.url=jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://localhost/lportal
        #jdbc.default.username=sa
        #jdbc.default.password=

      Which obviously implies that jtds is still the preferred method of connection. Also, probably a good idea to mention this in the Liferay 7 developer guide on dev.liferay.com since jtds has been the standard for a very long time.
