General information
Users can mention other users in Liferay portal in Comments, Blogs and Message Boards to get the other user's attention about some topic or asset.
In order to mention other user, we should write the "@" character followed by the first name, last name, screen name or even the email address of the user. However, there's a big limitation to this search: we can only search using one single word.
This limitation is very problematic in Portals/Sites with lots of users, because just searching by the first name or the last name won't be enough because there might be tons of users with that first name/last name.
Objective
Allow the search engine to use more than one word to find the right person. For that, space character has been supported as an input.
This story has been implemented in the Autocomplete plugin under LPS-65024 but the benefit is to every place that uses the Autocomplete Plugin. This includes both:
- Mentions
- Link to Wiki pages
