In Liferay 7.0, when we shrink down a page from a desktop browser-sized view to a mobile-sized view, the portlet order seems to follow a top-to-bottom approach. For example, if we have a 2 column view (50/50), the top portlet in the left column will be first, then the second portlet in the left column, and so on. Then, the top item in the right column will follow the last item in the left column, then the second item in the right column will follow, and proceed from there.
With respect to page layout design, the most important information is usually stacked on the top rows. It would make sense if the portlet in the top of the left column, and the portlet on the top of the right column would be first, and second (respectively) in a mobile-responsive single-stack view.
Because the order of the portlets in responsive mobile view seems to be dependent on their position in the desktop view layout, it would make sense to allow administrators to set portlet order on a mobile view out of the box by numerical assignment. The feature I am requesting is to allow either default OOTB pattern, or numbered assignments within the single-stack view when the same page is accessed through a mobile device.
