Resolution: Won't Fix
Affects Version/s: 7.0.X, Master
Fix Version/s: None
Component/s: Application Security > LDAP
The tooltip used for the "Base DN" field in the "Add LDAP Server" menu is incorrect. It is displaying the tooltip for the "Base Provider URL" field instead of its own tooltip. This bug seems to have existed since the menu was first added way back in
Steps to Reproduce
1. Start up Liferay and log in as the admin user.
2. Navigate to Control Panel > Configuration > Instance Settings > Authentication > LDAP.
3. Click on the "Add" button underneath "LDAP Servers".
4. Hover your mouse over the icon next to "Base DN" and observe the tooltip that appears.
Expected Result: The tooltip would say something along the lines of "The Base DN specifies the initial search context for users and is optional."
Actual Result: The tooltip says "The LDAP Base Provider URL format is ldap://host:port. The Base DN specifies the initial search context for users and is optional. For example, use ldap://localhost:389 and ou=Users,o=Example for your values.", which is the same tooltip as the one for the "Base Provider URL" field.
