Number of theads and categories in Message Boards doesn't reflect the whole hierarchy

    Details

      Description

Most of the message boards tend to first have at least one level of only categories, but many of them have 2 leves of only categories and then they start having theads. This allows to be better organized and to browse threads easily and faster.

However, with the current implementation, when the user navigates to the Message Boards Home page he will see a bunch of top level categories and in each of them it will say 0 Threads, because we are only counting the number of threads that belong to the immediate category, but we don't consider the subcategories.

This is a big UX problem because the user will perceive that there are no threads in the category and he won't even open it, because he doesn't expect to find anything there. But the truth is that there are treads underneath.

We need to change this to consider all the subcategory levels in order to display more "user friendly information".

This was the initial behaviour back in 6.2 but it was changed in 7.0.
