      Description

When doing Search from Web Content Administration, search results are displayed in a different order than search results from the Search Page. This happens because the "Filter and Order" drop-down comes with "Modified Date" selected by default in the "Order By" section, so results are sorted as such. On the other hand, results from the Search Page are unsorted, so they reflect the relevance score from the search engine; top results are more consistent with the search terms used. In Web Content Admin, the "Filter and Order" drop-down does not allow to "un-select" the "Order By" segment, which means one of the 3 sort options will always be applied: "Display Date", "Modified Date" or "Title".

This feature request intends to introduce the ability not to use any sort at all. If a user makes this choice, search results from Web Content Admin will be naturally ordered by relevance score, matching the ordering of search results from the Search Page.

      Steps to reproduce

Login to Liferay as an admin.

Navigate to Admin Panel > Liferay DXP > Content > Web Content.

Add Web Content articles with the following titles in the exact order listed as follows:

      • 新規製品1
      • 新規製品2
      • 新規製品3
      • 新規1
      • 新規2
      • 新規3
      • 製品1
      • 製品2
      • 製品3

On a page, go to the search bar on top of the page.

      Search for "新規製品"

Assert the following order of results:

      • 新規製品3
      • 新規製品1
      • 新規製品2
      • 製品1
      • 製品2
      • 製品3
      • 新規1
      • 新規2
      • 新規3

Go back to the Web Content Panel.

      Search the same string "新規製品"

      Actual behavior

The order of Web Content articles are listed as follows. Notice the most recently created show up first, because of the "Modified Date" sort option.

      • 製品3
      • 製品2
      • 製品1
      • 新規3
      • 新規2
      • 新規1
      • 新規製品3
      • 新規製品2
      • 新規製品1

      Expected behavior

In "no sort" mode, with natural relevance order from the search engine:

Results beginning with 新規製品 are more relevant, so they should come at the top of the list.

Results beginning with 新規 or 製品 should come next since they are partial matches.
