This feature has been requested by many customers. For authenticated user experiences such as a customer portal, a common need is to restrict content to a set of members. However, when there are many members or the membership changes frequently, manually maintaining this can get tedious. Channel Managers want to automatically permission content to people who have certain fields using a rule editor. We can utilize a special type of 'authenticated segment' (segments using only user and organization profile information) to create roles.
We need to identify the best way to implement this and whether this will be done via roles, user groups, or something else.
