DXP provides a lot of features for each site. While this is great when the features are used, it can also create an overwhelming administration experience when only a few of them are needed for a given site.
The goal of this feature is to allow site administrators to define the desired features when creating a site to simplify the administration options to just those needed. Site administrators will be able to re-enable any feature at any point of time.
The feature selection options should be reduced to a small enough number that makes them easier to understand. Enabling a feature will automatically enable the associated administration applications, widgets and configuration options.
It should also be possible for site initializers to specify which features are enabled by default or not. Also, a site initializer could decide to replace the default “Feature Selection” screen on site selection or site configuration after creation with its own customized version.
Note: Consider offering the option to provide a more fine grained set of options to let advanced site administrators to choose which widgets and administration applications to enable.
