Context
This ticket stems from wherein it was determined that the localization-related inconsistencies in Document Type and Structures are not the result of unintended behavior.LPS-84508
Current Behavior
The fields selector in Document Type (in Documents and Media) and Structures (in Web Content) is inconsistent and varies based on every language. The reason seems to be that it is sorted alphabetically.
Why This Should Be Improved
This may pose difficulties for keeping consistency for environments that have a multilingual user base. Every other part of Liferay is 1:1 the same regardless of localization. For example, the sort order of the side menu, or the sort order of System Settings icons. Why shouldn't this be the same for Document Types and Structures?
How to Identify the Behavior
- Go into Product Menu > Liferay DXP > Content > Document & Media > Document Types
- Add a new Document Type
- Observe the Fields section under "Main Metadata Fields"
- Change localization (i.e. add /ja/ after the hostname:port) and repeat steps 2-3.
- Change localization again to another available localization(e.g. /de/, /fi/) and repeat steps 2-3 again.
(Note: This also is present in Product Menu > Liferay DXP > Content > Web Content > Structures)
Actual Results
Each localization has its own order of what fields are available.
Desired Results
Fields retains its order regardless of localization.
Request
Please work on the functionality to make sure that the UI/UX is consistent regardless of what localization I am using. Fields retains its order regardless of localization.
