Liferay session extend pop triggers even if user is active on page

We observed that if session.timeout.auto.extend property value is set to false Liferay will trigger session extend pop up based on session.timeout property value even if user is active on page and then user has to manually extend the session. For example if session.timeout value is set to 5 minutes then Liferay session extend pop-up is triggered at 4th minute even if user is active and performing actions on the page.

      Steps to reproduce :

      1. Disable the session configuration in tomcat\webapps\ROOT\WEB-INF\web.xml
      2. Set below properties in portal-ext.properties file
        • session.timeout=5
        • session.timeout.warning=1
        • session.timeout.auto.extend=false
      3. Restart the server and login into Liferay portal
      4. Be active on page and perform some actions on Liferay portal for 4 minutes

Expected  Result : Liferay session extend pop up should not trigger at 4th minute as user is active on page and performing actions

Actual Result : Liferay session extend pop triggered on 4th minute irrespective of user is active or not

Note : Observed the same behaviour in enterprise edition Liferay DXP Digital Enterprise 7.0.10 GA1 as well
