Issue
There is a known issue when updating DXP 7.1 with Fix Pack 12 (see release notes), in that file Liferay Connected Services Client.lpkg is deleted from ${liferay.home}/osgi/marketplace
Testing Completed
Attempted to identify a workaround with these steps:
1. Clean DXP 7.1 + DXP-11 + LCS Client fully deployed
2. Stopped server
3. Copied Liferay Connected Services Client.lpkg from ${liferay.home}/osgi/marketplace to a location outside of the bundle
4. Updated with DXP-12
5. Deleted the state folder from ${liferay.home}/osgi/state
6. Returned the copied Liferay Connected Services Client.lpkg to ${liferay.home}/osgi/marketplace
7. Restarted server
Expected Behaviour
The existing LCS Client would be carried over for use within DXP-12. According to LCS installation notes on Marketplace, only the latest version of LCS Client requires DXP-12 to run.
Actual Behaviour
The portal loads error free. Going to Control Panel > Apps > App Manager > (Search term: Connected) we see the warning "App Manager is temporarily unavailable" restarting the portal yields the same result.
LCS Client is present with Status: Active but now at version 6.0.0 (In DXP-11 it was version 4.2.0)
Request
1. Is this a viable workaround for the main LCS Client issue?
2. What related event(s) would trigger the App Manager to become temporarily unavailable?
Thank you.
