No error message below an empty required field

Steps to reproduce:

1. Navigate to Product Menu > Site Administration > Content > Dynamic Data Lists
2. Click the option and choose Manage Data Definitions
3. Add a Data Definition
4. Add a Text field and set Required to 'yes', Repeatable to 'yes'
5. Nest a Document and Media field in Text Field
6. Set Required to 'yes' and save this Data Definition
7. Use the Data Definition create a List
8. Add record to the List
9. Type the text feild and select a document to Document and Media field
10. Click '+' button on Text field
11. Type text field do not select document
12. Click publish

Expected Result: There is a error message below the second Document and Media field: This field is required.
Actaul Result: No error message below the Document and Media field.

NOTE: This behavior can also be seen with Images, Link to Page, and Journal Articles
