Adding a wiki in SQL Server 2008 causes deadlock exceptions and will also prevent the wiki from being displayed in activities

    • Type: Regression Bug
    • Status: Closed
    • Resolution: Won't Fix
    • Affects Version/s: 2.1.X EE
    • Fix Version/s: 2.1.X EE
    • Labels:
    • Environment:
      Tomcat 7.0.27 + SQL Server 2008. Portal 6.1.20 EE GA2.
Plugins 6.1.x EE GIT ID: a4c3196fcea89a61cd8f7481898f7919543fedc0.
    • Affects Portal Version/s:
      6.1.20 EE GA2

Here are the steps to reproduce (Must be done with SQL Server 2008 and Portal 6.1.20 EE GA2):

      1. Add an SO site
      2. Go to the SO site's wiki page
      3. Add content to the FrontPage

      Expected result:
The content will be added with no exceptions. The wiki article should also be visible in activities.

      Actual result:
The content will in fact be added, but deadlock exceptions will appear. The wiki article will also NOT be visible in activities.

If the SO plugins are not deployed, a regular wiki can be added into portal without exceptions. After simply deploying the SO plugins, a wiki can still be added in a portal site without exceptions (This wiki will in fact also show up in activities). But once a user attempts to add wiki content to an SO site, exceptions will appear and will continue to appear in both Portal and Social Office wikis.

This bug was not reproduced in Portal 6.1.30 EE GA3.
