Newly added pages to open Social Office sites have Guest view permissions turned on by default

    • Type: Bug
    • Status: Verified
    • Resolution: Unresolved
    • Affects Version/s: 3.X EE, 3.X CE
    • Fix Version/s: None
    • Component/s: Social Office Site

    • Affects Portal Version/s:
      6.2.x, 6.2.0 CE GA1, 6.2.10 EE GA1

Here are the steps to reproduce the issue:

      1. Add an open SO site
      2. Add a page to the SO site
      3. Copy the URL of the new page
      4. Sign out and paste the URL into the browser

      Expected result:

The user should be prompted to sign as is the case with all SO site pages

      Actual result:

The user will be able to see the page as well as the SO site name.

This is due to the fact that Guest view permissions are turned on by default for any new pages that are added to an SO site (as is also the case for portal sites). But since SO site pages don't have guest view permissions turned on by default, any new pages added to an SO site shouldn't have guest view permissions turned on to keep things consistent and to keep SO sites from being viewed by guest users.

The workaround is to unflag Guest view permissions for any newly added pages.
