      Description

      Background

      Following SYNC-1742

As an organization, only authorized users should be able to access organization files.

      Scenarios to consider

      • Deactivated users
      • Unauthorized file sharing

Since sync is designed for offline access, Server Admins should be able to decide how long any given 'offline' token will last.

      Feature Request

      Encrypt sync files.
Manage encryption keys using sync client/connector, so users can only access files if they have a valid token.
If a user has not logged into their sync client, they can't see any of the contents inside their sync folder.
      Example encryption service: https://spideroak.com

      Further Considerations

A further consideration of this feature would be that files could be encrypted and stored on a Liferay server, so, for example, corporate execs have access to documents, but a server admin does not... but this would be a consideration for Collab, not just Sync.
