Mac app fails to open with error "Liferay Sync" can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software

      Description

      After downloading the Liferay Sync client for MacOS, the application fails to open with the following error: "Liferay Sync" can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.

      This is due to new notarization requirements enforced by Apple.

      Workaround: While we work on getting the app notarized, the workaround in the meantime is to:

      1. Go to the "Applications" folder
      2. Right click on the "Liferay Sync" app
      3. Select "Open" from the menu
      4. You should get a pop-up dialog. Click "Open"
